Dehra Dun, June 5 : For the first time in a very long time Dehra Dun witnessed the coming together of twelve organizations under the banner of the reservation caravan. These organizations have been working on separate women’s issues and the caravan gave them the chance to put up a joint show of solidarity.

At the meeting in Gandhi Park some 200 people gathered. Slogans rent the air and bystanders paused to see the event and hear the speeches. Everybody spoke about the role of the caravan in uniting the women’s groups. They were especially encouraging about the young who had joined the journey, especially the brave girls from Kashmir, who had joined the express.

The caravan is now on its way to Meerut.
